Five Arrested in Hetauda Over Gen Z Uprising Arson and Vandalism

Nepal Police have arrested five individuals in Hetauda for their alleged involvement in acts of arson and vandalism during the Gen Z Uprising protests held on September 8–9. According to police sources, the suspects were identified through CCTV footage and eyewitness reports following violent demonstrations that caused significant property damage in several areas.

Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and to identify others who may have participated in the unrest. The Gen Z Uprising began as a movement demanding better governance and accountability but later escalated into widespread protests across multiple cities in Nepal.

Police have assured the public that legal action will be taken against those responsible while emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace during demonstrations.
