Apple Enters Foldable Market with iPhone Duo and Unveils iPhone 18 Series

At its annual “Surprise and Shine” keynote at Apple Park in Cupertino, Apple announced its hardware lineup for the upcoming year, led by new CEO John Ternus. The flagship announcement was the iPhone Duo, the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Key Announcements

iPhone Duo: Built with a grade 5 titanium frame and custom variable-torque hinge, the device features a passport-sized 5.4-inch outer display that unfolds into a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner screen. It supports the USB-C Apple Pencil, features dual 48MP rear cameras, and includes side-mounted Touch ID.
iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max: Driven by the next-generation 2nm A20 Pro chip, the Pro series introduces an upgraded camera system featuring a variable aperture sensor and expanded internal thermal cooling.
Wearables & Audio: Apple also revealed the Apple Watch Series 12 with new ceramic finish options, the Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.

Availability

Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro series begin September 12 with retail availability on September 18. The iPhone Duo starts pre-orders on October 16, launching officially on October 23.
