The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a flood warning for nine districts in the Koshi Province. According to their forecast, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, and surrounding areas are at risk of moderate flooding. Authorities have advised residents to remain highly vigilant for the next three days.
People living near riverbanks are urged to exercise caution, particularly when engaging in activities near water, as the water levels in smaller rivers passing through districts like Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Udayapur, Ramechhap, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Kaski, Lamjung, and nearby regions are expected to rise.
While the water level in the Kanaki River will see a significant increase, it is not expected to reach dangerous levels. However, settlements in the area are advised to stay on alert.
Additionally, although the water levels in the major rivers—Koshi, Narayani, Mahakali, Karnali, Bagmati, East Rapti, West Rapti, and Babai—may fluctuate slightly, residents are still encouraged to remain cautious.
