Gold Price Jumps Rs 2,800 in Nepal, Reaching Rs 319,500 Per Tola

The price of gold has jumped sharply in Nepal, with the domestic price of fine gold increasing by Rs 2,800 per tola on Sunday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is now being traded at Rs 319,500 per tola, up from Rs 316,700 on Friday.

The latest increase comes as international gold markets remain sensitive to geopolitical uncertainty, interest-rate expectations and demand for safe-haven assets.

Gold prices in Nepal are heavily influenced by international prices and movements in the exchange rate, meaning developments in global markets can quickly affect domestic buyers.

For Nepali consumers, the increase is particularly significant ahead of major festivals and the traditional wedding season, when demand for gold jewellery typically rises.

Jewellers and traders will be watching international markets closely because further increases could push domestic prices to new records.

The jump also highlights gold’s continuing importance in Nepal as both a cultural asset and a form of household wealth.
