The Government of Nepal has officially published the names of 45 individuals who lost their lives during the Gen-Z protest rallies held on September 8–9, 2025, declaring them as martyrs of the movement. The decision follows verification and recommendations from the Ministry of Home Affairs, security agencies, and district administration offices, and was approved by the Cabinet.
These martyrs are recognized for their sacrifice during nationwide demonstrations in which citizens, especially young people from the Gen-Z generation, demanded better governance, anti-corruption reforms, and the lifting of a social media ban.
