The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors has approved an additional $50 million for the Nepal Compact, highlighting the partnership between MCC and the Government of Nepal in advancing the country’s development goals through impactful and high-quality infrastructure projects.
“This additional funding underscores our shared commitment to the compact’s success in bolstering Nepal’s electricity grid and fostering long-term economic growth,” stated Cameron Alford, MCC Vice President of Compact Operations.
Established in 2004, MCC is an independent U.S. government agency focused on reducing global poverty through economic growth. It provides time-bound grants that combine infrastructure investments with policy and institutional reforms, supporting countries that uphold stringent standards for good governance, anti-corruption measures, and democratic principles.
