Nepal Faces Bangladesh in Crucial Women’s U-19 Asia Cup Super Four Match
Nepal is set to face Bangladesh today in the Super Four stage of the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup, currently taking place in Malaysia. The match will be held at the Bayuemas Oval cricket ground in Kuala Lumpur.
On Thursday, Nepal and Sri Lanka shared one point each after their match was called off due to rain. Today’s game holds significant importance for Nepal, as a victory over Bangladesh could secure their place in the final.
Nepal advanced to the Super Four after defeating Pakistan by six wickets in their opening match. In the group stage, Nepal and India also shared a point each when their match was canceled due to rain. India topped Group ‘A’ based on run rate, with Nepal finishing as runners-up.
The tournament features six teams, including the host nation Malaysia. Group ‘A’ comprises Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, while Group ‘B’ includes India and Pakistan. Pakistan and Malaysia have been eliminated from the competition.
The Nepali squad, led by captain Pooja Mahato and vice-captain Soni Pakhrin, consists of 15 players. The team includes Sana Praveen, Jatsnika Marasini, Kusum Godar, Elisha Kumari Yadav, Savitri Dhami, Krishna Gurung, Tirsana Bishwakarma, Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Rachna Chaudhary, Seema KC, Sneha Mahara, and Anu Kadayat.
The tournament, which began on Sunday, will conclude on December 22.
