NRB launches service for exchanging clean notes from today

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has introduced a note exchange service for the public in preparation for the Dashain festival.

According to NRB Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Dilliram Pokhrel, the service will be available at NRB’s central and provincial offices, as well as at branches of all banks and financial institutions, until October 8.

Individuals can exchange up to Rs 18,500 worth of notes in denominations of Rs 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 from any bank or financial institution.

Unlike previous years, when brand-new notes were circulated, this year, the bank will provide used but clean notes for the Dashain festival.
