Four people have tragically died from a diarrhea outbreak in Narainapur, with seven others falling ill in Gegli village, located in Narainapur Rural Municipality-3 of the Banke district.
The victims have been identified as 25-year-old Rusa Pasi, his 18-month-old daughter Nandini Pasi, 60-year-old Shanti Pasi, and 10-year-old Yusuf Ali, all residents of Gegli, according to Ajay Mishra, the Ward Chair of Narainapur-3.
Nagendra Kumar Saha, the Chief of the Health Section at Narainapur Rural Municipality, confirmed that the outbreak occurred in Gegli, a village near the border with India.
“A team of health workers has arrived in the village and is currently providing treatment to the affected individuals,” Saha stated. Health workers have coordinated with the Health Office, Banke, to control the outbreak.
It is suspected that the outbreak may have been triggered by contaminated drinking water, according to health officials.
