Gatthaghar area tense after truck hits and kills woman

Ghattaghar are became tense following the death of a scooter rider when a truck hit and dragged her scooter in Ghattaghar, Bhaktapur.

The truck en route to Bhaktapur from Koteshwar hit the scooter at around 2:30 PM on Thursday. As a result, the scooter rider died on the spot.

According to Bhaktapur Police Range, the identity of the deceased has not been disclosed yet. The scooter was dragged about a few meters from the truck.

Following the accident, the local residents blocked the road. The agitating crowd also broke the windows of the truck.

A large number of police were mobilized at the incident site. Agitating locals pelted stones at police personnel who reached there to disperse the crowd. Situation was brought under control later in the evening.
